Regime Change Row: BJP Accuses Opposition Over Youth Stir And EC Protests
A major political row has erupted over demands for regime change in India. The Bharatiya Janata Party accused the Congress and allied parties of using youth-led protests against the Election Commission as a front to instigate political unrest and overthrow the government. The controversy intensified following remarks praising Bangladesh's youth movement and activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan's statement asserting that seeking regime change is every citizen's democratic right. Defending their stand, Congress leaders maintained that their campaign remains strictly focused on addressing electoral malpractices and seeking democratic change.
