SpiceJet attributed the cancellation to operating-hour restrictions at Gorakhpur airport, which could not be extended beyond 9 pm. The airline apologised and said it arranged an additional flight on November 2 to fly the affected passengers to their destination.
Passengers lie on tarmac after SpiceJet cancelelled flight last minute
Passenger Vijay Lakshmi shared a video of herself lying on the airport tarmac, calling it “sleeper class on runway.” She said passengers had boarded SpiceJet flight SG553 from Mumbai to Gorakhpur before it was cancelled at the last minute on November 1, leaving families distressed and children crying. Videos showed passengers protesting and demanding answers.
