Himanta Biswa Sarma, Amit Shah Mock Rahul Gandhi Over Mock Parliament EventAssam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have launched sharp attacks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi over his Prime Ministerial ambitions following a mock parliament event held at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Sonia Gandhi made numerous attempts and investments to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister, but after failing, organized a mock parliament in Mallikarjun Kharge's lawn where he became Prime Minister.
Sarma added that while Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister in mock parliaments, Narendra Modi remains Prime Minister in the original Parliament. This followed remarks by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who similarly mocked the event, asserting that Rahul Gandhi could never become Prime Minister in the real Parliament.
The mock parliament had been organized by opposition parties as a symbolic public impeachment demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, while the Congress party has maintained silence on the BJP leaders' remarks.PM Modi: '50 Crore People Defeated Severe Poverty in 10-12 Years'Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an event in Maharashtra, highlighting India's economic growth and poverty alleviation milestones. The civic body had taken down the video following objections and political backlash from Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including MLA Amit Satam, who alleged an anti-Hindu bias.
Dia Mirza had appealed to citizens to celebrate Diwali without firecrackers to safeguard the environment and public health. The High Court observed that pollution poses a severe public health hazard and urged collective efforts to tackle deteriorating air quality.
NCP-SP leader Clyde Crasto defended Mirza, alleging that the BJP communalised an environmental initiative despite similar appeals made by other prominent personalities. The High Court stressed the need to prioritise air quality concerns over political controversies.
