The disruption plunged residential colonies and industrial units into darkness from late evening, leaving thousands of consumers without electricity. The prolonged outage has triggered a parallel water crisis across key areas, forcing residents to rely on stored water.
Districts including Ambala, Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Rewari have also reported major disruptions, with Rewari witnessing road blockades by angry residents. Over 5,500 complaints were registered from Gurugram alone within seven hours as administrative helplines struggled to handle the volume.
While Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Power Minister Anil Vij expressed solidarity with the employees against privatisation, ground-level relief remains minimal, leaving citizens to face continuing hardships across affected districts.
