A Taj Agra guest was blacklisted for life after allegedly slapping a waiter. A LinkedIn post detailing the incident has garnered praise from social media users.Paritosh Ladhani, the joint Managing Director at SLMG Beverages, shared a LinkedIn post about the slapping incident.

A guest was promptly blacklisted from Taj Agra after slapping a waiter during a service-related misunderstanding. The hotel management said it acted after discovering that the employee had kept quiet to protect his dream job.Paritosh Ladhani, Joint Managing Director of SLMG Beverages Pvt Ltd and Sincere Developers, which manages the property, shared the incident in a LinkedIn post.

He explained how a misunderstanding during restaurant service allegedly escalated into physical assault, and why the waiter’s response left him deeply moved. The waiter, identified as Kanti, was serving a guest at the hotel’s restaurant when a communication gap led to a misunderstanding. As per Paritosh’s account, Kanti’s limited proficiency in English contributed to the confusion.

The guest allegedly responded by slapping him. “I blacklisted 1 guest from our Taj Agra property for life because of this horrible thing they did with our waiter!!” Paritosh wrote, making his decision clear at the outset of the post. What troubled him further was that Kanti did not report the incident himself. When asked why he had remained silent, the waiter explained that he came from a poor farming family in a village near Agra and considered working at the hotel his dream. “I didn’t want to do anything that could risk/ruin it!” Kanti told him, as recounted in the post. For Paritosh, the response put the employee’s vulnerability into perspective.

A job he had worked hard to secure meant so much to him that he feared speaking up against alleged mistreatment could jeopardise his future.Paritosh said he was furious when he learnt what had happened and decided to ban the guest from the property the following day. He added that the guest remained blacklisted.Emphasising that a customer’s influence or spending power should not determine how employees are treated, he wrote, “ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has the right to disrespect someone from my team.

Let alone physically abuse them!!”He also used the incident to underline the responsibility employers have towards their staff, particularly when employees feel too vulnerable to defend themselves.“If our employees are afraid to stand up for their dignity, it's OUR responsibility to stand up for them!” he wrote.See the post here:With over 5,600 reactions, the LinkedIn post received a lot of support from users. Some urged Paritosh Ladhani to pursue a formal assault complaint as well, while others questioned why the guest had not been publicly identified. For many readers, the hotel's response was a reminder that protecting employees' dignity must matter as much as keeping guests satisfied.- Ends
