A woman and her alleged lover, a gym trainer, have been arrested in Ghaziabad for conspiring to kill her husband, Shashank Kantharia, who was stabbed multiple times at his home on October 26. Police said the attack followed the husband's discovery of the woman's relationship with the trainer.The incident took place at the Jagriti RWA Society in Vasundhara Sector 1.

The accused have been identified as Pratap Singh, a trainer at Fitness Headquarters gym, and Priya Sharma, Shashank's wife.According to the police, the two allegedly wanted to marry each other and had planned to eliminate Shashank after he learnt about their relationship. Police have recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack based on information provided by the accused.

Pratap allegedly entered the house and stabbed Shashank multiple times with a knife.

Shashank, who was seriously injured in the attack, raised an alarm, following which the accused fled the spot. Police reached the house after receiving information about the incident and took Shashank to Yashoda Medicity hospital for treatment.HOW RELATIONSHIP LED TO THE ATTACKDuring questioning, police learnt that Pratap worked as a trainer at Fitness Headquarters gym, where Priya had been exercising for the past seven to eight months.

The two allegedly grew close during this period, and their friendship developed into a romantic relationship. According to the police, Pratap told investigators that he and Priya wanted to get married.

However, Shashank had learnt about their relationship and was preparing to move to another flat after Diwali.Police claim that Pratap and Priya met during a morning run on October 25, a day before the attack. During this meeting, the two allegedly discussed eliminating Shashank.The following morning, Pratap allegedly reached Priya's house with a knife.

Police said Priya had left the gate open beforehand, allowing him to enter the house and attack her husband before fleeing.POLICE INVESTIGATING ALLEGED CONSPIRACYThe Indirapuram police registered a case against Pratap and Priya on the complaint of Shashank's brother. The case includes charges related to attempted murder and criminal conspiracy, along with other relevant provisions.Both accused have been arrested, and the knife allegedly used in the attack has been recovered at their instance.

Police are investigating the roles of the two accused in the alleged conspiracy.ACP Indirapuram Suryabali Maurya is expected to provide further details about the case.- Ends
