Voter List Row, Rising Defence Exports, Opposition Under Fire Over Regime Change Talks
Addressing an audience, the Defence Minister addressed recent allegations concerning electoral fairness and voter lists. The speech noted that since the introduction of voter identity cards, single-party majorities have shifted, while highlighting that legal challenges or official complaints regarding voter lists were never formally submitted due to an absence of evidence. Respect for constitutional institutions and the electoral process was reaffirmed, drawing contrasts with historical decisions during past general elections. The address also highlighted national economic and strategic progress, pointing to leadership on global platforms, digital transaction volumes, free trade agreements, and international recognition. In the defence manufacturing sector, domestic production expanded from forty thousand crore rupees to over one lakh eighty thousand crore rupees, transitioning the nation into an exporter of defence equipment. Furthermore, criticism was directed at opposition political parties over rhetoric advocating street agitations and regime change, framing such actions as attempts to disrupt national stability through disorder.
