Last month on September 21, Vivo introduced its latest flagship, the Vivo X500 series in China. The lineup includes three smartphones – the standard X500, the X500 Pro and the X500 Pro Max.

Now, finally, these devices have successfully made their way to the global market with a formal introduction at an event in the Canary Islands of Spain. The new phones bring upgraded camera hardware, high-refresh-rate displays, bigger batteries and MediaTek's latest Dimensity chipsets.

The X500 Pro Max sits at the top of the lineup, featuring a 200-megapixel periscope camera and support for 8K video recording. As for Indian buyers, there is some good news too. The Vivo X500 series is expected to arrive in India by the end of November.

Vivo, however, has not officially confirmed the India launch date or local pricing yet.Vivo X500 series specs and featuresStarting with the displays, the Vivo X500 Pro features a 6.36-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen, while the X500 Pro Max gets a larger 6.85-inch panel. Both support a 144Hz refresh rate.

The standard Vivo X500, meanwhile, comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.Under the hood, the X500 Pro and Pro Max are powered by MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The standard X500 uses the Dimensity 9600M, which is said to be a rebranded version of the Dimensity 9500.

Moving to the cameras, the X500 Pro Max gets a 50-megapixel main camera paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. The X500 Pro, on the other hand, features a 64-megapixel telephoto camera.

Both phones also get a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and support an optional Zeiss telephoto extender with a 400mm-equivalent focal length. The Pro models support 4K slow-motion video recording at up to 240fps, while the Pro Max also supports 8K video recording at 30fps. However, the higher megapixel count alone may not make the Pro Max a major upgrade over the X300 Pro, which already had a 200-megapixel telephoto camera.

Sensor size, stabilisation and video capabilities will also matter when comparing the two phones. Battery capacity is another key highlight.

The standard Vivo X500 packs a 7,500mAh battery, while the X500 Pro gets a 6,510mAh unit. The X500 Pro Max offers an 8,000mAh battery in China, although capacities may vary across markets.

All three phones support 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.Vivo has also introduced a new naming strategy with the X500 series. Unlike the X300 lineup, which had an Ultra model but no Pro Max, the new series includes both the Pro Max and a possible future Ultra variant.

The X500 Ultra has reportedly appeared in an IMEI database, but Vivo has not confirmed its launch timeline or specifications.Vivo X500 price and availabilityThe Vivo X500 Pro is priced at EUR 1,399 (around Rs 1.48 lakh) for the 256GB storage variant.
