Vinai Kumar Saxena: 'World Economic Forum Ko Karein' Is My Dream For Ladakh

In an interview with India Today, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena highlighted administrative efforts to transform the cold desert into a hub of high-value agriculture and floriculture. Speaking about agricultural diversification, Saxena shared details of planting 2.5 million lilium flowers imported from Holland across 40 acres, as well as initiating pilot saffron cultivation using premium Iranian corms. He noted that Ladakh has established 11,000 greenhouses since becoming a Union Territory in 2019, enabling supplies of organic produce to the Indian Army and national markets. Emphasizing his vision for the region, Saxena stated, "World Economic Forum ko karein" remains his dream conference for Ladakh once supporting infrastructure is established. Addressing security concerns, Saxena affirmed that the borders remain completely peaceful and armed forces stay highly alert, while dismissing assertions of an undeclared emergency by underscoring the resilience of Indian democracy.
