NSUI Protest Outside Parliament Street Police Station; Delhi Police Detain Demonstrators
High drama unfolded outside Delhi's Parliament Street Police Station as National Students' Union of India and Youth Congress workers staged late-night demonstrations. Several protesters were detained by law enforcement authorities after staging a stir demanding an FIR against police staff for the alleged mistreatment of workers during earlier detentions. Delhi Police registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by a female constable alleging she was stopped from doing official duty and assaulted by protesters. No counter FIR has been registered on the students' wing complaint, prompting the NSUI president to vow continued protests until a case is filed. Further demonstrations and an Aam Aadmi Party and Khap Panchayat Tiranga Yatra are planned.
