London, October 21: A group of business men, headed by Sir James Connolly, Sir John Biles, Mr. Eustace D’Eyncourt and Mr.
Parles Parsons, have submitted to Australian Government a scheme to form a company, with a capital of eleven millions sterling to build in Britain, a fleet of 22 knot-liners to make a regular fortnightly service between Britain and Australia, calling at Bombay and Colombo both ways, half as fast again as the present weekly mail service, which would result in bringing Australia a week and India five days nearer to Britain. It is suggested that the Australian Government should give the new line, for a fixed period, same mail subsidies that are at present being paid to mailship companies and immigrants traffic to Australia above those carried by the Commonwealth line.
