Dushyant Kumar Gautam, who serves as the national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and holds the role of Uttarakhand in-charge, has recently been named the new Governor of Sikkim. This appointment has sparked immediate backlash and protests led by the parents of Ankita Bhandari.
The family is strongly demanding that Gautam's assumption of office be delayed until the Central Bureau of Investigation finalizes its ongoing inquiry into the alleged VIP angle connected to their daughter's tragic 2022 murder.
In the wake of these developments, Ankita's father and mother staged a demonstration that led to them being detained near India Gate. Following their subsequent release, the father issued a stern 24-hour ultimatum to the central government, warning that failure to meet their demand would result in widespread nationwide protests.
