A Pune woman cop was suspended after motorists filmed her driving against traffic and admitting to drinking. An FIR has been registered as police investigate where and when she allegedly consumed alcohol.Pune woman cop on duty caught driving on wrong sidePune,Oct 28, 2026 15:08 ISTA woman cop in Pune was suspended after a video showing her driving on the wrong side of the road while intoxicated went viral on social media.The officer, who was in uniform at the time, was also heard admitting that she had consumed alcohol when questioned by motorists.The incident took place in the Manjari area, where commuters spotted the 39-year-old driving against the flow of traffic and recorded her on their phones.
In the circulating video, she appeared to acknowledge having had a drink when asked about it.Watch the video here: Her vehicle was also allegedly being driven without a number plate.The woman was posted at Kalepadal police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jeevan Beniwal confirmed that an FIR had been registered against her and that she had been placed under suspension.
Police sources said the officer was not on duty on Sunday or Monday. Investigators are also looking into reports that she may have been partying with friends in Pune's Bund Garden area before the incident.However, the exact time and place where she allegedly consumed alcohol remain unclear.
