Drone Strike Hits Tanker Off Oman; 2 Indian Sailors Missing, 9 Rescued
A drone strike targeted the commercial tanker MT Petro Dolphin at Sohar anchorage off the coast of Oman, leaving two Indian seafarers missing while nine others were rescued. The vessel was carrying 11 Indian crew members when the attack took place. Indian authorities and the Embassy of India in Muscat are coordinating with local officials as search and rescue operations continue. The strike comes amid escalating concerns over maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, where multiple commercial vessels have faced attacks, prompting renewed appeals from the Ministry of External Affairs for the safe passage and protection of Indian sailors.
