Delhi Police Files Supreme Court Affidavit on Protests, Curbs and Detentions
Delhi Police has submitted an affidavit before the Supreme Court regarding traffic curbs, internet shutdowns, and detentions during recent protests. The police stated that no detentions under Section 65 of the Police Act took place outside notified prohibited zones, clarifying that prohibited areas extend across multiple locations in the capital due to diplomatic and government installations. Following court directions ensuring free movement, the police noted that road barricading is under continuous review and has been removed or reduced in several sectors. Traffic advisories were also issued to guide the public amid legal challenges over curbs and detentions.
