Shaina NC: 'I Don't Think Anyone's Above The Law' Over Foreign Citizen In Protest
Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC stated that "I don't think anyone's above the law" while discussing Mumbai Police and immigration authorities directing actor Imran Khan to leave India by October 28. Authorities issued the notice following a complaint by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya regarding Khan participating in an unlawful protest despite holding US citizenship and an Overseas Citizen of India status. Shaina NC highlighted that while individuals have the right to question, foreign nationals are subject to the Citizenship Act and immigration regulations regarding political agitations. She defended the police's mandate to act if permissions are not sought, especially concerning protests against the constitutional Special Intensive Revision exercise aimed at cleaning up electoral rolls. During the demonstration demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, Imran Khan asserted the importance of freedom of movement and showing up without fear, while the Mumbai Police and the Foreigners Regional Registration Office initiated regulatory action.
