Delhi Fortified Ahead Of Day 2 CJP Protests; Heavy Security Deployed Across Connaught Place
Security forces have fortified central and New Delhi areas, including Mandi House, Connaught Place, and India Gate, as the Cockroach Janta Party resumed its demonstrations over alleged electoral roll irregularities. Delhi Police, the Rapid Action Force, and paramilitary units have been deployed in large numbers, with public gatherings and protests restricted under relevant sections of the law. Despite the massive security arrangements and traffic diversions on key routes, mobile internet connectivity, metro services, railway operations, and commercial establishments remain operational across the national capital. The CJP and opposition leaders continue their agitation demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar, following Saturday's confrontation and multiple political detentions. Meanwhile, a Supreme Court special bench is scheduled to hear a contempt plea regarding alleged excessive restrictions and detentions in the national capital.
