Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is scheduled to visit Perundurai on November 3 to distribute welfare assistance to women’s self-help groups and beneficiaries of various welfare schemes for women.Preparations for the event are under way at the Kongu Engineering College campus in Perundurai, where arrangements are being made for a stage, a cultural arena and a helipad.Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.A.
Sengottaiyan, Collector S. Kandasamy and senior police officials inspected the venue on Saturday (October 24, 2026) and reviewed the arrangements, including security measures.The visit will be Mr.
Vijay’s first to Erode district since he assumed office as Chief Minister. The programme assumes significance as a bypoll to the Perundurai Assembly constituency is also expected to be held soon.
Mr. Vijay is expected to announce new schemes during the visit.
