Three brothers, two of whom established themselves as wealthy real-estate moguls, received 30-year prison sentences each for drugging and sexually assaulting dozens of women across a span of decades. Tal Alexander, 40, alongside twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, had been convicted in March of leveraging their significant wealth and social standing to attract women to exclusive parties and high-end residences where the assaults took place. During Tuesday morning proceedings in a New York court, 12 victims addressed the court, including one individual who had not testified during the initial trial. They described the lasting psychological damage resulting from the rapes and expressed a collective desire for the shame they had long carried to shift onto the defendants.

Numerous victims urged the presiding judge to hand down maximum life sentences for all three brothers. Maya Miller recounted to the court how being raped by Tal Alexander in 2014 stripped away her sense of security, stating she carries an internal funeral for the person she might have become. Another victim, speaking under the pseudonym Isa Brooks, explained that after being assaulted by Tal and Alon Alexander at the age of 16, she lost her capacity for self-trust and realized the danger she was in only after it was too late. An additional woman testified that when she prepared to report her assault, Tal Alexander intimidated her by mentioning he knew where her sister worked. Throughout the victim statements, the brothers maintained a largely emotionless demeanor, staring forward or whispering with their legal counsel, who noted they advised their clients to avoid looking at the speakers to prevent misinterpretation.

Prosecutor Elizabeth Espinosa argued that the defendants warranted the harshest punishment available, noting that the evidence revealed a truly devastating pattern of behavior. She emphasized that the brothers meticulously refined their tactics of drawing women in with promises of luxury while remaining completely indifferent to the suffering they caused. Over the course of the five-week trial, 11 women, several of whom were minors when the assaults occurred, testified that the brothers provided gifts and transported them to destinations such as Aspen and the Bahamas, where they administered drugs before committing the rapes. Prosecutors indicated that the pattern of abuse stretched back to high school, with the trial focusing on offenses starting in 2008, and accused the men of slipping substances into drinks, physically restraining victims, and ignoring pleas and screams to stop.

Defense attorneys had maintained that the encounters were consensual, characterizing the brothers as womanizers rather than abusers, and requested the minimum sentence of 15 years. Tal and Oren Alexander built substantial fortunes marketing luxury real estate in New York and Miami, previously working for the major brokerage Douglas Elliman where they represented celebrity clients before launching their own firm called Official in 2022. Alon Alexander was employed at the family-owned private security business, Kent Security. As the prison terms were delivered, the brothers remained stoic, showing no visible reaction while staring directly ahead.
