The bikers failed to notice a gaur standing by the roadside and rode towards it, prompting the animal to charge at them and ram their motorcycle.The impact threw the riders and their bike onto the road.

The noise reportedly prompted the gaur to retreat into the forest, averting a potentially serious incident.The tourists said they were fortunate to have escaped with their lives.Forest officials have warned visitors to exercise caution while travelling along forest roads in the Valparai region, where wild animals are frequently sighted.
