Meanwhile, the Oura membership, which provides access to the platform's health insights, costs Rs 599 per month, inclusive of taxes. Now let's look at the features and what is new with the Oura Ring 5. Oura Ring 5: Features and health trackingAccording to the company, the Oura Ring 5 has been redesigned with smoother curves and low-profile sensor domes to improve skin contact and make it more comfortable to wear throughout the day and night.
The ring is made from lightweight, non-allergenic titanium and uses upgraded LEDs and 12 optimised signal pathways. Oura says these help capture clearer health signals across different finger shapes and skin tones.
The Oura app then turns this data into personalised insights on sleep, activity, stress and recovery. The ring offers a claimed battery life of six to nine days on a single charge, depending on its size and usage.
It is available in sizes 6 to 13, with a size-specific charger. Other features include a physical vapour deposition (PVD) coating for improved scratch resistance, an IP68 rating and water resistance up to 100 metres.Oura Ring 5 Health RadarHealth Radar is one of the main health features highlighted with the Oura Ring 5.
Building on the Symptom Radar introduced in 2024, it looks for changes in biometric signals that could warrant attention, particularly those linked to cardiovascular health and nighttime breathing. Oura says the feature was developed with input from more than 40 in-house doctors and PhDs.Health Radar includes Blood Pressure Signals, which analyses 30 days of nighttime data to look for patterns that may indicate cardiovascular strain.
Nighttime BP uses overnight photoplethysmography (PPG) signals to track blood-pressure-related trends. Users can also log readings from a blood pressure cuff in the Oura app.
However, neither feature measures blood pressure in mmHg or diagnoses medical conditions. The ring also tracks nighttime breathing patterns, offering a rolling 30-day view of sleep-related changes and disturbances. Another feature, GLP-1 Insights, lets users taking GLP-1 medication log their doses, schedules, side effects and weight changes alongside data on sleep, activity, readiness and stress.
The feature is available in English in India for users with an Oura Ring Gen3 or newer.Other health features include Menopause Insights, which helps users understand how perimenopause symptoms may affect sleep, mood, cognition and daily functioning. Cardio Effort tracks cardiovascular exertion during workouts against a personalised baseline, while automatic VO2 Max estimates aerobic fitness during GPS-enabled walks, runs and hikes without requiring a dedicated walking test.Oura says its smart ring is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent medical conditions.- Ends
