Meira Kumar’s couplet on hope at INDIA bloc’s mock Parliament
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar presided over the INDIA bloc’s symbolic protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 31, bringing back her signature Speaker style and familiar “Baith jaiye” remark. At the end, she recited a couplet by poet Suroor, saying the night must end because “the sun must rise”, urging courage in defending democracy.
