Massive Drug Seizure in Tamil Nadu: TVK Expels Functionary, Opposition Mounts Attack

A massive drug seizure has sparked a political controversy in Tamil Nadu after the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam district functionary Boobalan and his associate following the recovery of 135 kilograms of methamphetamine from the associate's residence. TVK subsequently expelled Boobalan from all party positions. The development prompted sharp political attacks against Chief Minister Vijay, with the DMK demanding an Enforcement Directorate and National Investigation Agency investigation into the drug network. Concurrently, the AIADMK alleged a failure in the drug eradication pledge, whilst the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded strict action against anyone involved.
