Rajapandian, a resident of Kathirvedu, was working as an Office Assistant at the Commercial Taxes Department in Chengalpattu district. In July this year, a woman filed a sexual harassment complaint against Rajapandian, based on which a case was registered against him.The accused failed to appear before the court despite a warrant being issued against him, due to which the Puzhal police initiated proceedings against him.When a team of police officials from the Puzhal station visited his house on Friday, he tried to escape by jumping from the terrace on the third floor of the building.
He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital for treatment. However, he died on Sunday.
