Kolkata Stampede Tragedy: Casualties Feared, Injuries Reported, PM Announces Ex Gratia Relief
A stampede in Kolkata has resulted in loss of lives and multiple injuries, raising concerns over the total number of people affected. While details regarding the exact number of deceased and injured individuals are being gathered, the local administration is extending assistance to those impacted. In response to the incident, an ex gratia compensation has been announced from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. The financial assistance includes two lakh rupees for the next of kin of each deceased victim and fifty thousand rupees for those who sustained injuries.
