Kochi police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Ebin Paul, for allegedly setting fire to a nursery located near a Jewish synagogue at 2:30 AM on Monday. CCTV footage captured the accused pouring petrol before setting the fire and recording the incident on his phone. Investigators suspect the fire targeted the synagogue and are probing foreign links, cryptocurrency payments, and mentions of Jewish establishments in other cities. Central agencies have joined the probe as the accused reportedly confessed to an earlier arson in Muvattupuzha.
