Prabhas fans have a reason to rejoice on his 47th birthday! The makers of his upcoming film Fauzi have unveiled his first look from the film, along with a video offering a glimpse of the actor in a fierce and powerful avatar.Along with the first look, the makers also revealed that the film is now slated to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.The two-minute-and-31-second video offers a glimpse into Prabhas’ larger-than-life character in Fauzi, which is believed to be set in the pre-Independence era.
The actor appears to play a soldier based in Kolkata who is willing to go to any lengths to protect his motherland. From blazing guns and high-octane action sequences to being introduced as “India’s biggest rebel soldier”, wanted since 1932, Prabhas’ character promises a fierce fight against British rule. One of the most striking moments comes towards the end of the video with his voice-over that says, “Abey oo firangi, main tera khoon lunga aur azaadi bhi chheen kar” (Hey, you Britisher, I will draw your blood and snatch freedom from you, too).
The dialogue sets the tone for his rebellious streak, portraying a man who refuses to bow to colonial power and is ready to fight for the country's freedom. The first-look video hints at a period action drama packed with patriotism, rebellion and intense confrontations.
With Prabhas stepping into the shoes of a soldier who has become a thorn in the British establishment’s side, Fauzi appears to centre on a character whose fight for independence is as personal as it is political. Earlier in the day, the makers had unveiled another poster offering a glimpse into the film’s period setting, featuring a golden coin bearing the actor’s profile in a military uniform, surrounded by flames.
The poster carries the tagline, “A Battalion Who Fights Alone,” alongside the words “Most wanted since 1932”.Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is backed by Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series Films presenting the project. Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar are producing the film.
Fauzi is slated to hit the big screens on March 19, 2027.- Ends
