CJP Moves Delhi HC Over Custody Extension; Founder Abhijit Dipke Halts Protests
The legal fight over the continued detention of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka reached the Delhi High Court after an urgent night hearing request was declined. The party challenged the magistrate court's October 19 order that extended their judicial custody until October 21 and rejected their sureties. The magistrate noted that the duo deliberately breached peace bonds, showed disregard for the law, and posed a risk to public tranquility. Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke announced a pause on protests until Diwali, describing Das and Ranka as the party's primary decision-makers and refuting allegations of abandoning them.
