CJP Chief Abhijeet Dipke Calls Fresh Protest on October 16 Over Saurabh Das, Ashutosh Ranka’s Arrest

Tensions have escalated following the five-day judicial custody of Cockroach Janata Party leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka in Tihar Jail. Party founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in Delhi and issued a clarion call for supporters to gather at Central Park in Connaught Place on October 16 at 5:00 PM for the Lehra Do Tiranga movement. He also appealed to citizens across India who cannot travel to the national capital to take out Tricolour marches in their respective cities. Dipke stated that waving the national flag is not a crime and expressed readiness to face arrest. The call has set the stage for another showdown between demonstrators and the Delhi Police along with paramilitary forces, following prior detentions and clampdowns in central Delhi. Opposition parties from the INDIA bloc, including leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, MK Stalin, and Mamata Banerjee, along with student organisations including AISA, SFI, and NSUI, have extended support amid attempts to establish Connaught Place as a protest venue.
