A sharp political confrontation has erupted after senior ruling party figures criticised the opposition over demands for regime change, warning that misleading narratives are damaging society. Leadership representatives emphasized that the general public will not support political elements acting against national interests.

During a recent media interaction, BJP National General Secretary and former Union Minister Smriti Irani rejected allegations levelled against the Election Commission of India and dismissed ongoing demonstrations led by opposition figures. Irani argued that the current agitation is driven by a desire for regime change rather than a genuine pursuit of electoral transparency, encouraging critics to contest elections through established democratic channels.

Addressing discussions surrounding voter lists during the Special Summary Revision process, Irani noted that a vast majority of voters have already been verified with the active involvement of millions of booth-level agents representing various political parties. She detailed that the flagged data points included millions of deceased persons, individuals who had relocated, duplicate entries, and untraceable voters.

Questioning the consistency of the Congress leadership's narrative, the ruling party official pointed out that opposition parties have previously secured electoral victories in several states under the identical electoral framework that is now being challenged.

Meanwhile, ongoing demonstrations in central Delhi demanding official resignations have caused severe disruptions to daily routines. Local business owners and traders reported plunging customer footfall and financial losses running into thousands of crores of rupees as a direct consequence of the continuous street protests.
