Special Summary Revision 2027 in Keralam: draft electoral roll to be published on Nov. 12; final list on Jan. 4

The draft electoral roll as part of the Special Summary Revision 2027 will be published on November 12, while the final voters’ list will be released on January 4, 2027, Kollam District Collector and District Election Officer Anie Jula Thomas said here on Thursday.Ms. Thomas was speaking at a meeting of representatives from various political parties convened in her chamber to discuss the upcoming revision procedures.The District Collector said the voters’ list is being updated with January 1, 2027, as the qualifying date to prepare an error-free electoral roll by enrolling all eligible citizens and excluding ineligible names.

She added that the complete schedule for the Special Summary Revision 2027 has been shared with all political parties and urged their full cooperation to ensure a smooth completion of the process.The Collector has asked political parties to ensure the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at all polling stations and to take immediate steps to assign them where vacancies exist. Following the publication, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will provide copies of the draft voters’ list to all recognised political parties.Objections and claimsObjections and claims regarding the draft roll can be submitted from November 12 to December 11.

Details regarding the received claims will be compiled constituency-wise by the respective EROs and made available to all recognised political parties. All objections will be resolved by December 28 ahead of the final publication on January 4.Meanwhile, the digital help desks set up across village offices on October 15 as part of a special enrolment drive will function until October 31.

Anyone turning 18 on or before January 1, 2027, can apply for inclusion in the voters’ list through these help desks.To boost voter awareness among youth, a campus enrolment drive titled ‘Campus to Booth’ will be conducted across colleges and higher secondary schools in the district from November 2 to November 7 under the tagline ‘Step Forward, Get Counted’.
