Mayawati told him that she had given up her own family, embraced the Bahujan community as her family and dedicated her life to sacrifice and struggle, but the community had also tested her, he said.“I said, ‘Yes, it does.’ Then respected Behenji told me that she could not entrust such a big movement, such a large community and such a huge responsibility to me without putting me through tests,” Anand said, according to PTI. He said he had assured Mayawati that he was ready to face every test she set for him for as long as he lived.
He also told her that he considered the Bahujan community, rather than his own family, as his family and would continue to make sacrifices, persevere and work day and night for it.“I will not rest until I make this community the ruling force in the country,” he said. Thanking Mayawati for giving him another opportunity, Anand said she had once again considered him successful in her test and sent him back among the people.Mayawati had expelled Anand from the party on September 10, after which his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, announced his retirement from politics.
Anand was reinstated on October 5, around 25 days after his expulsion, following his apology and demands from party workers that he be taken back.Targeting the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, Anand alleged that it had spent Rs 7,000 crore in public money over the past 10 years on advertisements portraying the state as developed and safe.He alleged that while the government had thousands of crores of rupees to publicise its achievements, it did not have adequate resources to prevent tragedies and improve public services. He cited the deaths of 10 children in a fire at a government hospital in Jhansi.Anand also claimed that more than 13 lakh government posts remained vacant in Uttar Pradesh and accused the government of failing to take steps to fill them.In his first rally since returning to the BSP, Anand reaffirmed his loyalty to Mayawati, criticised the Uttar Pradesh government over spending, public services and vacancies, and called on BSP workers and young people to begin preparing for the 2027 Assembly elections.- Ends
