Supreme Court permits certified green crackers for Diwali in Delhi NCR on November 7 and 8 with restrictions

The Supreme Court has given conditional approval for Diwali celebrations in Delhi NCR, allowing certified green crackers on November 7 and 8. Firecracker use is limited to specific time slots in the morning and evening, with a total of three hours allowed daily.

From November 9, the use of firecrackers is completely banned. Only CSIR-NEERI certified crackers authorised by PESO with a QR code can be used.

Bursting is forbidden within 300 metres of hospitals, health centres, old age homes, educational institutions, and silent zones. Pollution control boards are set to monitor air quality until November 30.
