RSS Warning on Bangladesh Model, Opposition Row and Protests in India
A political row has erupted after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Indresh Kumar warned against attempting a Bangladesh-like model in India, linking the neighbouring country's situation to the persecution of minorities, poverty, and unemployment. The warning follows comments by AIMRC chief Neha Bora, who hailed the Gen Z movement that led to the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh, calling it an inspiration for young people in India fighting for democratic and voting rights. The RSS has alleged foreign funding behind the Bangladesh model, while the Bharatiya Janata Party and allied partners targeted the opposition following the controversy. The RSS plans a 10-day awareness campaign addressing the opposition's actions.
