Defending Kharge, Kalappa stated that party workers were addressed in everyday colloquial slang to emphasise electoral defeat and dismissed BJP allegations of misconduct, claiming that a 'bully typically like the Prime Minister of India can give but can't take.' In contrast, Bhandari strongly condemned the statements, calling them personal abuses against a constitutional authority directed by senior Congress leadership. Bhandari also raised allegations regarding the assault of a Congress worker and dismissed allegations surrounding electoral roll deletions under the Special Intensive Revision.
Kalappa further countered by alleging EVM manipulation and highlighting past derogatory remarks made by BJP leaders against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, as both parties traded accusations over declining political standards.
