The interaction later received widespread criticism online, with a fundraiser for the worker raising over $100,000.The video, originally shared on Instagram by Three Of A Kind (@thea.ctiveworld), was later taken down following the backlash it received. It showed the influencer approaching a Red Baron supermarket employee who was arranging products on the shelves. He then pulled out his phone and pretended to scan the worker, playing an Apple Pay sound to make it seem as though he had taken money from him.
The employee initially appeared confused, but soon realised he was being recorded and objected to the prank.“I'm not you recording me right now. You shouldn't record me right now,” he told the influencer, adding that he would report him.
The prankster, however, continued making light of the situation, thanking him for supposedly giving him $20. The employee then made it clear that he was not amused.
He explained that he had already had a long day, had children waiting for him at home and was supposed to have finished work an hour earlier.“I got kids at home that are going to bed without me right now,” he said, adding that he had to wake up at 5 am and visit 10 more stores for work. He also worried that the incident could get him thrown out of the store.
When the influencer continued to brush off his concerns, the worker accused him of making money from such videos while ordinary people struggled to make ends meet.“You're probably making money off this. I can't even pay my mortgage, and I got four kids at home,” he said. The influencer eventually said he would leave, but the employee insisted that he should go immediately and not be around when he left.Watch the video here:Un trabajador de un supermercado decidió plantarle cara a un influencer que estaba gastndole una broma para rerse de l. “Probablemente t ganes dinero con esto.

The post included his remark about struggling to pay his mortgage while raising four children.Several social media users expressed sympathy for the employee, calling the prank humiliating and questioning why someone working hard to support a family had been made the subject of such content.Others criticised the wider trend of turning everyday interactions into online entertainment at someone else's expense. Some also hoped the worker would not face any disciplinary action from his employer over his reaction, pointing out that he had already been dealing with a demanding work schedule.Meanwhile, an individual named Luke Oakenshield launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the employee. In the fundraiser description, he said he wanted to give the worker some financial breathing room while the situation unfolded, particularly in case he lost his job.Oakenshield said he did not know the employee personally and was trying to find his contact details to ensure the money reached him directly.
He also clarified that he would not receive any of the funds himself. At the time of writing, the fundraiser had collected $101,486 (approximately Rs 96.6 lakh).- Ends
