Connaught Place Central Park Shut Ahead of CJP March as Delhi Police Impose Curbs
Central Park in Connaught Place in the national capital will remain shut on October 16 and 17 ahead of the Kokraj Janta Party's Lehra Do Thiranga March. The Delhi Police informed the Delhi High Court that measures will be taken against CJP leader Abhijeet Deepke and appealed to protesters and the public not to join such assemblies. While police stated they will facilitate 11 persons carrying the national flag and singing the national anthem, the CJP alleged it is an attempt to restrict their demonstration and vowed to proceed. Police cited Section 163 prohibitory orders in adjoining areas, with possible metro station closures and force deployment to prevent mobilization.
