To maintain public peace and order during the upcoming Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar birth anniversary and Guru Pooja celebrations, the Ramanathapuram district administration has ordered the complete closure of all government TASMAC retail liquor shops, bars, and FL2 and FL3 licensed liquor bars across the district.The closure will remain in effect for three consecutive days—October 28, October 29, and October 30, 2026—covering the festivities centered around Pasumpon village in Kamuthi taluk.Ramanathapuram District Collector M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran warned in an official press release that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the closure orders and engaging in illicit liquor sales during this period.
