Delhi Air: 'Everyone Is Responsible, Citizens Are Responsible': Bhupender YadavIn an exclusive interview with India Today at the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) office, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav outlined the comprehensive multi-agency measures implemented across Delhi and NCR to combat winter air pollution. Yadav detailed the newly introduced Integrated Command and Control Centre, which tracks over 177 targeted action points across 16 corporations and 53 municipalities.
Emphasizing a hotspot-based approach, he noted that targeted interventions—including mechanized road sweeping, monitoring construction sites for PM 10, online continuous emission monitoring in 98% of industrial units, and regulating diesel bus entries—are being tracked on a real-time basis. Addressing public concerns over recurring winter smog, Yadav underscored collective ownership and municipal governance, declaring, "Everyone is responsible.
The citizens are responsible. सब लोग मिलकर के करेंगे." He stressed that proactive measures, transparent governance, and stringent monitoring will yield better outcomes.
